Dwight Howard is Defensive Player of the year.
For the second straight year, Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic was the NBA's Defensive Player of the year. He garnered 110 points from a possible 120 points vote from the media. Howard led the league in both rebounds(13.2 per game) and blocks(2.78 per game), while leading the Magic as one of the best defensive team of the league. He is the first player to win back-to-back since Ben Wallace did it in 2006.
"Most people believe that the MVP is someone who scores a lot of points, which is great," Howard said. "But I believe that defense wins championships."
