Lebron James will be name NBA MVP

Lebron James will be crown as a King of NBA players this seasom. Its his second MVP awards and second straight season that he get this award. This season James averaged 29.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 8.6 assists and he will receive the trophy Sunday at University of Akron.

Dwyane Wade was quoted at Washingtonpost.com saying:
"I don't think anyone deserved it over LeBron. LeBron could get it every year. It's his award to lose. That's how it is with certain players. Jordan didn't win it every year. Jordan could have won it every year. But the criteria was apparently a little different."

The official votes has not been release yet but I'm sure it will be a one side result. James is the 10th player to win consecutive MVP awards. He joins Bill Russel, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabar, Moses Malone, Larry Bird, Magic Johson, Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan and Steve Nash.

Rejuvenated Celtics ready for LeBron, Cavs

Following yearlong plan perfectly, former champs won't be a pushover

The Boston Celtics said all along the object wasn’t to win the Eastern Conference or set any regular-season records. It was to have everybody healthy and ready for a playoff run and another shot at a title.

We didn’t believe them, not really. It sounded too much like Pee-wee Herman crashing his bike and popping up to say, “I meant to do that.”

But we can believe them now, not because of anything they said, but because of the way they swatted away the Miami Heat in five games in the opening round of the playoffs. This was a fourth-seeded Boston team against a fifth-seeded Miami squad, but it looked more like a No. 1 against a No. 8, as complete a mismatch as we’ve seen in the first round.

He's been phenomenal the whole series, and when you get in the playoffs your best players have to step up and he certainly has."

The Bobcats felt they had every opportunity to pick up their first playoff win, but were never able to capitalize on Howard's foul issues.

Oklahoma City Thunder Scott Brooks is the NBA Coach of the Year. He received 71 of 123 first-place votes. Brooks guided the youngest NBA team to a 50-game winner after a bad season last year.

As Expected, Bryant Signs Extension With Lakers

By JONATHAN ABRAMS

Scratch one big name from the star-studded 2010 free-agent class. It is not as if many expected Kobe Bryant to lend an ear to potential recruiters, but Bryant made official what had been expected, signing a three-year contract extension with the Lakers on Friday.

The extension is expected to amount to around $90 million and sets up the likelihood that Bryant, 31, will retire as a Laker. It also means that the core of last season’s championship team will be together for the next few years. Since the start of the 2008-9 season, the Lakers have locked in Andrew Bynum, Lamar Odom, Pau Gasol and Bryant.

“Two of our main goals heading into this season were to sign Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol to contract extensions,” Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak said in a statement. “With the signing of Pau earlier this season and the signing of Kobe today, we were able to accomplish those goals, helping to keep the core of this team intact for the foreseeable future and in turn help to ensure the franchise’s continued success over the years to come.”
